The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian 9/10
My favourite of the fantasy genre. Yes, i actually like narnia a whole lot better than i like harry potter. Elements of the christian allegory is evidently missing from this instalment, but i still had a great time watching the entire movie. LOVES! The 'children' are more likeable in this movie than the first one. But they're still whiny. What's great was i watched it with pk and you-know-what-what. HAH.


Sex and the City Movie (M18) 7/10
Love the clothes and the girls but the movie in all its gloss and glam really failed to top the success of the tv series. For that, i'm disappointed, and not at all carrie-d away. Actually i wanted to 6/10 it, but on account of the beautiful aesthetics of the camera of nyc and fashion, i think it deserves a 7. ((:

今天还未回家前在脑海里作了一首曲可惜忘了
我只记得此是这样唱着的:
不要跟我说你爱我
然后说你犯了错

然后将这爱带走

其实我很爱音乐 我喜欢哼唱自己脑海里的旋律
对我而言它们虽然不是什么实体发行的歌曲或k歌经典
但我还能从它们里边儿找到一下生命和生活的小小感动
这一点点的创作推动着我 让我欣赏人生点滴
刚刚翻阅了过往所写的诗词
哇很奇妙的是从开始到现在我已经写了:
144篇歌词类的作品, 36首英文诗, 7首短诗
似乎好多的感觉 但把数据丢到一边我发现…
我真得蛮喜欢写作的 这些短短的创作让我一直对自己有希望和梦想
对自己的理想和文字力量一直存有要求
有时当自己一个人的时候我会思考自己将来到底最想要做什么
其实我不知道
我很想当个教师 好好栽培下一代 传承上一代和这一带的文化财产
我很想当个填词人 为歌曲写出动人的意境 让别人认识我的想法
我很想当个编剧导演 将我人生的感动播放在人家面前
我很想当个歌手 不需要很有钱 但是能唱歌给自己听 哈哈

现在我的未来出现了很多选择
我很想到英国深造 但是前始终会是个问题
老实说我没有百分百把我能获得一纸奖学金
更别说是overseas奖学金了
虽然我说过会主动向银行借贷但qz说得对
我没有心理准备面对将来会欠下来的债务 唉

阅读了曾经写过的一首诗Many Things To Cry About
我真的惋惜者所失去的并感激那些我还有的
不是每件事情都能尽善尽美 我遗憾那些留不住的人和心
有些人可能以为我还挂念着断线的风筝
但no我其实感受到了疯的微凉 轻轻的吹
所失去的我现在没有精力去寻回
所以我只能感受着其所留下来的一点美好或悲伤
而反省着
好了夜累了 明日满家乐 继续

昨天第19届台湾金曲奖入围名单正式揭晓
(能媲美Grammy, 华人届最具指标性的音乐奖项)
对于今年的佼佼者我相当满意
金曲奖似乎又开始肯定实力派歌手和他们的创作了
还记得去年入围/得奖名单不伦不类 十分令人头疼
相信今年的金曲奖将会是一大盛事
入围名单里不难发现许多现象, 其中两个:
1. 本地歌手/创作人的崛起 - 各大奖项都由新加坡人的面孔出现
作曲: 林其玉(庆幸有你爱我), 蔡健雅(空白格)
作词: 小寒(达尔文)
编曲: martintang (逆光)
更令人骄傲的是女演唱人方面6位入围者, 3名是新加坡人!: 孙燕姿(逆光), 蔡健雅(Goodbye&Hello), 蔡淳佳(庆幸有你)
2. 回到音乐本质 - 入围者都是受人肯定的音乐人, 毫无争议的名单
女演唱人都是实力派: 张惠妹, 孙燕姿, 梁静茹, 蔡健雅, 蔡淳佳, 莫文蔚
这6人不是历届金曲歌后就是受人肯定的实力派好歌喉
男演唱人也不落人后: 本世纪最会唱的男歌手陈奕迅和创作新人方大同皆入围
3.重回主流音乐怀抱 - 过往几年小众市场被金曲重视
代表性人物如陈绮贞, 苏打绿和张悬纷纷出头与主流资深音乐人分庭抗礼
但是我觉得这一年来主流作品颇多而小众才子/才女都甚少露面
所以金曲今年的方针回归通俗音乐
虽然有些人批评金曲向市场妥协但我不以为意
我认为奖项是应该在艺术造诣上和市场反映里寻求平衡的

遗憾的是范范没有入围最佳女演唱人和最佳作曲
对于fir, 王力宏和she在金曲上的失利 我只能说我早料到了


最后 梁静茹万岁! 希望她能在7月5日顺利将歌后宝座捧回家 :D

I want a break from the mundane routines of the military.
I want a breather from tension all over the place.
I want to feel the passing by of time consciously.
I want my life and these goals I’m working towards.
I want to know that I’m making no compromises.

I’m not at a point of cracking but I’m really tired. Booking out isn’t as simple as it seem now. the work that awaits at home just lingers there until upon completion. It’s terrible how much I yearn for freedom and time off yet I’m not getting any because so much is expected. I want/need a break. But I’m not getting any.

Accuracy of Death 7/10. I felt that this movie really boast of an extremely well-crafted ending. Even though the structuring wasn’t as pleasant as it could be to spin it towards this ending, the typical jap-style created the setting for viewers to expect something like this ending coming our way. Excellent finale that’s on par with Atonement.

Went swimming earlier, like wow.

Perhaps tthe world isn't that eager to celebrate the induction of the olympics in the midst of riots and disasters, but i found the theme song for the beijing olympics 2008 - 100 days countdown mtv. it's quite nice. All stars, but no elva, no jay chou. As usual jolin is a disgrace in the vocals department. -_-0

For all that I know, I’m (so much) more than what I thought I was capable of.
Really in a flicker, eighteen days just came and went.
Really in a twinkle, six months (a quarter of my nsf liability) just came and went.
I don’t know how time managed to creep by so quickly that I didn’t even notice the change in me. Days used to be dreary and loong but now twenty four hours seem a bit short, not that I’m complaining. As I’m writing this, I have this slight feeling of contentment in me. The thought that I’d just accomplished a ten day field camp is just a feat that seems too incredible for me. I didn’t exactly enjoy every single minute part of it but I’m glad I’d overcome my mental limits by leaps and bounds. Limits that I used to bind myself to are just trash now. In the past I used to tell people stuff like ‘if roy can do it, so can you’ to instil a certain confidence in them. I think I wanna retract that. I can because I’m willing. I really feel that what I’m doing isn’t exactly what anyone else can do. More blatantly I actually think that I’m more capable than some (if not a lot of) people. I did it and I’m proud of myself. I’m also extremely glad that I’m able to sit here and write this down.

Over the past eighteen days, I’d also been offered places in nusfass and ntusociology.
So it’s all cool. :D

shining armour.
This will be the last entry before i embark on a ten day field camp in tekong. Days will not be as nice but i'll really try my best. I know what's bad is just right before my eyes but i guess the strong will come out of it alive. I await the day when i can wear this beautiful black and white suit (to book out) again. At least 30 good weeks, and the eight bad weeks will come from here.
